Faulty fuel sender?

Featured Replies

Hi

My fuel gauge works 70% of the time, when I put in a full tank of fuel then it is perfectly fine but once about a quarter of the fuel is used then it drops to 0 with an error message.

I have seen online that it could be the fuel sender unit, is this difficult to change on a 3.0 TDI?

Thanks

I suspect it'll be located at the top of tank and will require not trim or rear seats to be removed to get at it. Usually fuel senders are bolted to the top of the tank and easy to remove once access is gained.

Cheers

Thanks for that Steve, I will give it a go once I get the parts.
