Headlight bulb connector corroded

Hi,

I would like to ask your opinion. Headlight beam lights bulb connector plug corroded. Need to be replaced. Can I just cut wires in the middle and reconnect new connector? Or it need to be done professionally in garage? Does it need to reprogrammed after? Thanks for any info. Ed
