A4 odometer lost miles whilst in my use

Featured Replies

I have a 2008 2.0tdi that has lost 7000 miles between services and all readings appear correct. I have had the car from new. Can anyone explain how the odometer readings appear to have gone Backwards?

No nothing. Had a new key programmed that’s all

Yes I did and we checked all service and MOT and they have no idea. It’s like the odometer has not moved from 179,999 to 180,000 but instead gone to 170,000 as that would better tally with current readings. Other than that it’s a complete mystery

Me too. Due to its age I don’t think I will bother but it’s just really strange

Correct. It costs little to maintain and still looks really good so will run it for longer.

My dad bought my a6 new and I then inherited it when he got company cars. Won't part with it 🙂 does need a cambelt and water pump now though so currently off the road. But hoping to be back on the road shortly so I can do the north coast 500
