Wolf Lucifer
Hello so I've noticed squiking noise coming from the belts area in my 2008 A3 sportback. When engine heats up it gets better but still stays there. on load it disappears. Any input what could it be?.
cliffcoggin
Mantas. It would help if you told us which engine you have.

Wolf Lucifer
you sure its the belt? its not like the squeek you get when you put water on it and it stops, it sounds more like a knocking squeek
Magnet
Hello Mantus, Thanks for being in touch, but I think it’s going to be impossible to correctly diagnose the source of your noise, when we have so little information to go with. I’m sure you will appreciate that any such noise needs to be assessed by actually examining the car, and if this were mine, I would be treating the diagnosis as being urgent, and getting the car booked in to be inspected without delay. Kind regards, Gareth.
cliffcoggin
Nobody can tell what the problem exactly is from a description of the noise, but the possibilities include: worn belts, alternator bearings, water pump.
