Hi, we are considering buying a used A3 sportback or A4, A4 avant for my wife, but was wondering if anyone had any advice on buying, what model is least troublesome, what model is best etc.what to look out for issues etc Looking for a lower mileage one say up to 55k got up to max £9000 to spend. Needs to be Automatic. Many thanks.

This depends what kind of miles your wife does. Short journeys I'd say avoid diesel due to the dpf and egr clogging. Ideally get one from a dealer a d with full history if you can
