Failed Sun Visor

Featured Replies

 A5 S Line (Dec 17)

Has anyone had an issue with an A5 front passenger sun visor? Mine detached itself today my having had it rotated it thru’ 90 deg to screen off the stroboscopic effect of the sun through roadside trees.

It seems to have broken off from the hinge point but there seems only to be 2 tiny pins within the hinge point attachment (although these are probably the electrical contacts for the vanity mirror light?). See attached photos.

Very disappointing on a 3 yr old car which hasn’t been abused.

It can replaced free of charge if the vehicle is still within the 3 year manufacturers warranty.

I'd definitely speak to Audi. Alternatively your other option is to source a second hand one from ebay or similar.

I’m at Audi right now with the same problem.  I’ll let you know what happens.  By the way I have a one year old cabriolet with only 12k miles.    Update : they are covering it under warranty.  This must be a problem….  Glad Audi stood by me on this.  I never had a visor fall out in any car I’ve owned !!
