Interior lights problem

Hi, I bought an A3 convertible a few weeks ago it’s a 2010 1.6 TDI. Really pleased with it! Been well looked after, just turned 63k.

I’ve noticed the interior lights don’t come on when either door is opened. But  both lights come on when you press the button on the interior light fitting. The glove box and boot light are both working and the display on the dash shows the doors are open. A bit stumped!

Any advice is appreciated 😊
