Help - limp mode

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I had an issue with a stabilisation fault message and then engine management light coming on intermittently with my 62 plate A3 - this kept throwing the car into limp mode. I was told it was a spark plug issue so I had them changed bit its started happening again?

Could this be brake related - happens when I'm going uphill mainly.

Any advice is good advice at the moment

Hi if you get the car diagnostically scanned that will tell you what is playing up as it will have thrown a code or two up, other than that it would be like playing pin the donkeys tail.

Hi Steve, I had the AA rrun a diagnostic check and they said it was because I needed new spark plugs - 2 x cylinders not firing?

Had new plugs put in in November and it was fine for a month 🤣🤣 gather that was NOT the problem

So the cars gone in the garage this morning, turns out my back brake calliper was siezed - wheel wouldn't turn at all!

This appears to have buckled the wheel and its now also rubbing inside the arch ... I have been driving her against her will from the look of it! 😒

Hi the seized calliper is a common problem but that won't cause the wheel to buckle thats a good old fashioned pothole or side swiping a kerb, I think the AA solved the previous problem as thats another common problem due to the fact that people don't change the plugs as often as they used to.

Steve.
