A1 Light upgrade

Featured Replies

Hello All - looking for some advice please.  My daughter has an A1 sportback 2012 and would like to upgrade the lights and bumpers both front and back to look like a 2018 model.  I believe the lights and bumpers will fit, but the plug for the rear lights certainly are different, does anyone know for a supplier of an adapter or do the femal part of the plugs need hard wiring?

Are you referring to doing a facelift of your current a1 from the same 8x platform? (Facelift from 2015 onwards) If so yes the bumpers and lights etc will fit. But you'll need to get parts hardwired in abd coded to the car.

If you're wanting your current a1 to look like the second generation model (2018-onwards) then this won't be possible unless you've got seriously deep pockets as they're completely different cars.

Be mindful though that doing these alterations could affect the vehicles saleability as it won't look as it should as per the Vin etc. Buyers and dealers can be funny about these things.

Thank you - very informative.
