A6 2.0 TDI won’t start

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My 2011 A6 2.0tdi just won’t start, I press the button and all I get is a click then a whirring sound from the engine I’ve got all the lights and the battery is giving the correct voltage, I’ve changed the starter motor and the 645 relay.

Has anyone on here seen or had this before or has anyone got any ideas cus I’m at a loss.

Cheers

You can call the AA or similar breakdown company who will come and plug a computer in to see if there are any fault codes. Could be a crank sensor maybe.

How has the battery been tested?

seen similar once and their was a wiring loom issue on the starter motor, best to get the faults if any read to help narrow it down just incase

Hello Mathew,

Many thanks for joining, and sorry to hear of your issue.
When you say the ‘battery is giving the correct voltage’ , can we take it that the voltage has been measured on an on-load situation i.e when you are try to operate the starter?
Kind regards,

Gareth.
