Stop Start Restriction

Featured Replies

Message on dash of my A4 1.4 TFSI (2017) reading stop start restricted, start manually- car wont start?

Any help would be appreciated

Hello Allen,

When you say the car won’t start, does that mean the starter motor doesn’t turn the engine, or it does but the car will not fire up?
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hi, Gareth, Thanks for your interest in my problem.

Unfortunately since posting my message I have found that I had a leak from the fuel rail which is a garage job.

My car was towed to garage they have found that one of the injectors was malfunctioning ( petrol was gushing out) they have also told me I will need a new " fuel rail"  £500 +.

I am waiting  for a progress report to from the garage tomorrow..

When I got  the message about stop/start restriction engine was turning but would not fire which was possibly due to the fuel leak.

I will update you when repair is complete.

Thanks again,

Allen

Sorry to hear of your issue. If the garage haven't already, it might be worth getting a diagnostic check done to see if any fault codes flag up. Also you could consider a battery test as a failing battery can prevent the stop/start from.working.
