ADS/electronic shocks alternatives - B8 A4

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I have a 2011 B8 A4 with electronic / ADS suspension and would like to know if there is a cheaper alternative to replacing the shocks with ADS shocks.  e.g. using the 1BE shocks (sports shocks) instead or any advice to replace the shocks but not use ADS shocks.  Any experiences with replacing these shocks would be much appreciated!

The answer is yes. You would just use dampers that don't have connections for ADS. According to reports this leaves a warning light on your dash, though. This link should help further:

Thank you very much @Steve Q.  The link is extremely useful.  I just need to figure out the warning light now, although perhaps it should not much of a nuisance ( I hope). I very much appreciate this guidance so that I do not have to experiment.

You're welcome 🙂 I'm not sure if the warning light would be an MOT failure or not.
