Hey all,

I purchased a A4 3.0 TDI today however, I’m a little suspicious of the noise the engine is making - it is sounding rather like metal on metal and I’m unsure what could be the cause.

 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

That ticking is fairly typical of the high pressure fuel injection

    It would be well worth get checked as it may be a problem with the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) which can be very costly to fix if it fails.
