My first post! I hope this is allowed to ask?

My sons first car is a lovely low milage (40k) Audi A1 1.4 2015.   The car is faultless however recently is developed a noise when first starting in the morning and after the cars been left for a good few hours.

The noise sounds like a whiring sound.   What we notice is the noise stops if the sterring goes on full lock (full left and full right).  The sound returns when taken out of full lock.

Eventually the sound goes aways completley after 15mins (once warmed up maybe)

My feeling is that the power steering pump is faulty.   Anyone got any experience of this?   I have a video of the nouse I will upload soon

EDIT: video uploaded

Yep could be a power steering issue. If it's been purchased from a dealer within the last 30 days then you are entitled for the dealer to repair it FOC or for all your money back

Most likely the supercharger/water pump. Think they are electric powered steering pumps on the a1
