Audi a4 2.0 tdi won’t start

Featured Replies

Hi guys and please welcome me into the Audi community. Hello to everyone 😂
I’ve got a slight issue with an Audi a4 2.0 tdi with engine code CAG year 2010
now this is what has happened
drove the car fine no problems at all then turned it off went shopping came back out and wouldn’t start so had the AA come out and have a look and said the fuel pump in the tank isn’t pumping any diesel so fast forward a couple of days, we fitting another pump in the tank which is pumping out fuel but the car still won’t start, we’ve also replaced the fuel filters and got fuel up to the HPFP
heres the things I’ve currently checked
fuel getting to HPFP
theres no filling in the HPFP
no check engine light
ive got fuel to the injectors
i used a duty meter for the injectors when cranking and got 8.3% duty
checked the throttle flap wasn’t stuck shut

is there anything else I should be looking at?

I do really appreciate any help on this one

Thanks in advance

I’ve just got the vcds on it and when cranking here’s the readings

Crank position sensor reading 224rpm

cam sensor reading 107 rpm

would this look correct?

thanks

Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂

Not sure what the figures should be for the cam or crank sensors. Another thought isn't there a fuel pump module? Could this be at fault?

Hi yes it appeared to have 2 failed injectors which didn’t bring up any codes on the vcds.

bought 2 injectors which supposedly were tested and good but 1 was faulty, the car runs now but has a slightly misfire and still smells but thinking of driving the car to see if the ecu learn the driving characteristics and sorts itself out

do you have a similar issue? Maybe I can help
