MMI screen unit replacement help

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, thank you for your advice about replacing the damaged MMI screen in my 2016 A4 avant. The screen cracked and stopped working when a loose object hit it during an emergency brake the other day. Local garage wants £1.5k to replace! There are loads of second hand ones on eBay for a reasonable price- (part number 8W2919604 I think). Can anyone share any good guides on how to remove and replace this part? I found one somewhat helpful but not that clear video, but would really like something more substantial. Does anyone know if the new unit would just be a simple swap or would it require any coding?

Thank you,

Chris

Sorry to hear of your issue Chris.

Yep will definitely need to be coded.

My wife had a similar issue 2 weeks ago when her screen cracked on her Jag after an item hit it in similar circumstances to you and we used JH Audi solutions based in Northampton.

Reasonable priced, happy to use 2nd hand parts and very efficient.
