Hi all,

I've been scouring the Internet for an answer, my bonnet/hood just won't release. I've already tried the following.

> removing the trim around the hood release to pull directly on the cable, as far as I can tell the cable is not snapped.

> pressing down on the hood while someone else pulls hard on the release

>spraying contact clean into the general area of the latches (getting desperate really)

>attempting to pull the centre release with a screwdriver and also a spring pull hook (long story but it's basically a thin rod with a 90 degree bend at the end).

 

The hood is tight shut and I'm not convinced my warranty will cover the work. Any tips are welcome.

How long have you had the car? 

I'd definitely recommend you contact the warranty company 

Thanks for responding I've been in touch and they have said if its a cable issue it won't be covered so I really wanted to get it open and see if it's something I can fix first
