Certain lights not working

I’m having some problems on my audi a1 tdi 1.6 with my lights. Some lights don’t work but some do, I’ve changed the bulbs and attempted to change the fuse but it still doesn’t work anyone had this problem

The real driver lights are all out and my headlight and daylight bulb is on on my front light

My normal first port of call is to eliminate any fractured wires within the flexible harness section into the tailgate/boot, but I feel your car isn’t generally oiled enough to suffer with this problem at this time. Worth an elimination though -?? 
Do you have a multi meter,  and are you handy with it? 
If not, then I too would suggest you leave this in the hands of a trusted local auto electrician.

know fact a lot of a1 get burnt plastic on the connection in boot on the rear lights

i have changed the wiring twice on a girl at work as it keeps melting the rear cluster

her one , always seems to go a few weeks before the mot, so havent losted long at all, 

she is now looking into changing the car, as been done 3 times

  • 1 year later...

Did anyone get to the bottom of this problem as we are now experiencing the same thing?
