Heater not working

Featured Replies

Further to my last post, I think I spoke too soon but with this one, I had no reason to use it.

Anyway, I have had a new thermostat put in and a new heater matrix.

The heater hoses are getting hot but no heat coming from heater.

Could it be that I am not turning it on properly? I have pushed all the buttons and set it at max and at about 28  degrees. I know the ai con is working and when I direct the air up to the windscreen, it clears the mist but today is the first time I have tried to use the heater.

From what I can make out, it is supposed to have climate control but all I get is very cool air coming out.

im afraid the layout isn’t idiot proof lol

Good question. Have you spoken to the garage that did the work to the heater matrix

It is back at the garage now, they seem to think it might be something to do with something that opens and closes a flap of some kind but knowing Audi, it is probably some modal or something

I am happy to say that my heater is now working fine after several new parts.

obviously the first thing checked and replaced was the thermostat.

then we went for the heater matrix only to find it wasn’t blocked.

next the garage looked at the heater switch which works the flap no success and then they looked at something I didn’t even know existed and that is the water pump for the heater. Yes apparently it has a separate water pump, well that’s what I was told. Anyway it is now fully functional
