Brake lights

Hi, My avant has just illuminated the glow plug light (flashing on/off). My scanner suggests it is a fault with the brake light switch/circuit. The brake lights are on all the time (ignition switched on) and with switch disconnected. Any known wiring fault suggestions would be grateful. Also looking for a wiring diagram.

Replaced the switch today, cleared fault codes and all good. Switch must fail safe and put lights on? Cheers
