R-tronic trouble

Featured Replies

Dear Forum Members,

I am experiencing issues with the mentioned gearbox. The error is quite ad hoc and typically occurs at high RPM. Could someone please explain the following error code? P17B8.

There is no specific description of the problem; likely, there is some issue with the clutch.. (I have already replaced the clutch control valve, but the issue persists.)

Is it worth changing the clutch?

According to the wear index (3050), it's in good condition. Unfortunately, I can only speculate because I don't know exactly what this error code entails. What I suspect: clutch position sensor, flywheel speed sensor, transmission speed sensor... Maybe the position sensors of the hydraulic block. Release bearing, and finally, the clutch. It would be helpful if someone could clarify what the specific error message means, as that would make it easier to pinpoint the location of the problem.
