Mk 3 Audi TT 2ltr D Ultra 2016 Boot will not open

Featured Replies

Wife has mentioned her boot wont open as normal.  On checking, she is right!  However it will work on the remote and on hearing the click you can open as normal. This would lead me to believe we do not have a wiring loom issue with the open and close process.  On having MOT done yesterday it was noted the rear number plate light are also out.  Would a faulty boot switch cause such an issue?  Bit strange both out.. Option are to remove and check for corrosion issues etc... If anyone else has any ideas or views on this please suggest on thread.  Will update what VDS says and any progress..  Wife not happy it only works on remote... told to fix.  lol

This seems to suggest a boot handle (Item 2) problem. These are electric, not mechanical, and it seems it is not communicating with the lock assembly.

Also water can get into the motor and lock it up. You could try getting two people to help. One to mess with the cable and one to lift the boot lid.

Then replace the motor if that seems wrecked from water.

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up and check the fuses.
