RedKen3 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 (edited) HI my 2016 C7A6 has a loud rattle in the front left wheel, only at low speed over sharp bumps. It passed the MOT no problem with the shocks. its fine every other time motorways etc. i took it to Audi and the very kindly offer to investigate it for €250 an hour. anyone else had a similar problem? thanks Red Edited November 30 by RedKen3 Forgot the details
Magnet Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Welcome Mark, It will be impossible to diagnose the source of your rattle, with the sparse information you provide. Rattle from engine, transmission, suspension etc. ….? Can’t you have the car inspected at an independent or local garage? Kind regards, Gareth.
Steve Q Posted November 30 Posted November 30 At a guess could it be a suspension arm, brake carrier etc. 1
RedKen3 Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 Audi did look over it , changed two drop links with no success, it sounds like it’s under the floor in the left passenger foot well.
Magnet Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Why main dealer for an eight year old car Mark? Don’t you have a trusted local garage who can look at it? 1
cliffcoggin Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Can you replicate the noise by bouncing the car violently while it is stationary? If so it suggests the cause lays in part of the suspension rather than the transmission.
DaveOL89 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I’m inclined to say wishbone area related, I had this one my Leon fr and it was the wishbones (I bought them on AUTODOC and changed myself so cost wasn’t too bad) but it’s an educated guess. beat bet is going to a local garage or something to get it diagnosed as it’ll be a lot less than Audi
