To buy or not

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I'm looking for some genuine feedback on Q7s and what to lookout for when buying one. I'm looking at something around 2013-15 age group. Been trawling round looking at lots. What's the difference between Sports version and the others besides the front end, I can't see anything else in the specs.

TIA

Check service history and buyers guides. They're expensive cars to maintain. Issues with dpf filters, egr valves, injectors, air suspension, gearbox issues are all documented. Make sure everything works.

Check buyers guides on YouTube.

Thanks mate. The usual suspects really lol. Air suspension would be new to me though. Ultimately a good history and maintenance is a must.

Air suspension problems are well known and expensive to fix.

Probably the same issues with most cars nowadays. It's the accessibility and labour costs that are a killer. Unless your into DIY.

Happy New Year

Hi no believe they are expensive to buy and maintain, accessibility is a major problem and the electrics are over complicated and frequently fail, then we have things like manifold swirl flaps and dodgy injector wiring, pricy vehicle for a rich man to run, most buyers second hand are seduced by the interiors and driving experience, I can think of a load of brands that dont suffer with the problems that these do, recently been trying to help my garage sort an air suspension fault on a Bentley they use the Q7 set up and believe me it is neither simple or cheap.

Steve.

Currently running a Golf R. Having issues with headlights. Think I'll keep it lol. Seems minor compared to the Q7. Maybe go back to when cars were easy to maintain.

You definitely need deep pockets to run a q7.

Hi I think in the long run fixing your current issues with the Golf will work out a whole lot cheaper than going out and actually buying a whole load of new problems with a Q7, people get rid of this model for a reason.
