A4 Avant B9 buying questions

Hello there,聽

I'm in the process of trying to find an Audi A4 B9 to buy and have a few trim related questions. A little background. I'd like a upgraded sound system, and quietness (to enjoy the sound system) is high on my priorities. Nice to have are leather seats and Android Auto. Budget will only really stretch to an older model: 2016-2018. I've found an SE with a B&O 3d sound system as part of a Comfort and Sound Pack

1) Are a subwoofer and a spare tyre mutually exclusive (i.e can you have both or is it an either/or scenario)?

2) if I get a basic (SE) trim, apart from the seats and suspension and styling are there any structural differences to the Sport/S-line? Especially as regards sound proofing

3) If I got some S-line seats (I've seen some on eBay) could I fit them into an SE

4) I believe I can get Android Auto on an older B9 with a retrofit kit. Does anyone have any experience?聽https://integratedautomotive.co.uk/product/audi-mib1-mib2-mmi-retrofit-carplay-and-android-auto-kit/

5) What else does the Comfort And Sound Pack include apart from the sound system

Thanks in advance

Phil

Definitely worth speaking to autologics or Audi retrofits regarding android auto to give you an idea of cost.聽

Check YouTube for buyers guides.聽

Regarding quietness all the cars will have the same sound deadening etc.聽

Check this thread regarding B&O

Don鈥檛 skimp on budget is my advice. I understand you鈥檙e looking at B&O, but that needs to dovetail with car model, engine and gearbox and even colour.

B&O was expensive feature, so it鈥檚 not likely to be found on poverty spec car. If you find B&O, then it鈥檚 bound to have leather, folding mirrors, possibly virtual cockpit would be my experience. Retrofitting anything is expensive, and usually you need VCDS to remove codes, even if plug and play.

I know this is on an Allroad brochure (2017), but it elaborates on the comfort and sound packs.聽https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Audi-A4-Allroad-2017-UK.pdf

Trim level aside, you want history and lots of it. On cars that have been on long service intervals, personally I鈥檇 give them a wide berth. No oil should be in the car for 18k miles.

Be prepared to travel too, once you鈥檝e done your due diligence checks. Additional checks such as Car Vertical which you pay for are useful.
