Intamitent starting on A4

Featured Replies

Hi I’m new to this forum, I have A4 2007 avant diesel and it’s developed an issue when starting , or not starting. Car will run fine like a dream but on occasions when you come back to start it just turns over and over with no firing up. I then leave it for several minutes or longer and then fires up as normal. I’ve called the rac on 5 occasions now and before they arrive I have got it to start just by turning over. Please help-frustration isn’t the word!

a friend of mine had the same issue with a 2008 a4 diesel and it turned out to be the key that was faulty,i think he got the transponder replaced by the lock doctor,Greg

Cheers for that gregg , it’s funny because I have an Eclass diesel that has the same issue, had it in and out of dealership and read on diagnostic but can’t find anything wrong also. Trust me to have two German vehicles with same issue, if I had ant hair I’d certainly pull it out
