Audi A8 2021 360 degree Camera Problems (New Member)

Featured Replies

Hi

I have had a range of issues with my car since buying it new in 2021, the two current issues that Audi can not fix are the 360 Cameras either show 1,2,3 sometimes 4 cameras working or none at all if i search the net lots are saying they are experiancing this but Audi states my car is the only one and my local dealer has NEVER seen this issue before. Secondly when i rinse my car with a hose pipe the doors lock and unlock and on one occasion the boot even opened by itself randomly not every time.

So the car was in the garage in January for 24 Days had a new front and rear camera i collected it it failed within 5 minutes it went back for a whole new camera loom. That failed it went back into the gargage at the beginning of April for a new control module which after them having the car for days short of 4 months has failed as well. So i have not had a car for 5 motnhs this year and caught between a rock and a hard place as to what to do next.

Any help if you have had similar issues or even know of any TSB's if you work for Audi (lots available on Audi forums), as Audi UK will not help me with this situation.

This will be fairly specialist, given it's an A8 and will be loaded with sensors. First step is getting error codes read from VCDS if dealer will share?

I also think you should write to Audi UK. If you bought it new, and I assume you may have extended warranty past normal 3 year manufacturer warranty. Anyway - it's auto-electrical gremlins, so usual checks and balances if it's a mild hybrid regards the battery, normal wear and tear, no accidents or any retro-work that could have changed adaptive settings?

Audi UK don’t want to know after 2.5 years of ownership they realised before I purchased it the 12v battery was faulty and believed it was causing the gremlins as the 48v battery was shutting certain electrical components down.

it has a tracker and dashcam fitted but both removed from the system to prove not causing the issues as Audi where very keen to blame these.

Watch the videos on YouTube for VAG Technic. They chased a fault on the 48v system on a A8 for a month to eventual track down the issue as oxidisation on a wiring connector.

This really is a game of checking continuity on wiring. If you’re looking for wiring diagrams, then you’ll find them on ErWin (pay to view).
