2015 2.0 TDI oil change

Featured Replies

Hello again

just on a tour of Scotland and the oil change warning came on so called every garage in the local area and only one could fit me in. A local Bosch service garage just a few pennies under £180 - is this excessive ? I seem to think it was but under the circumstances I didn’t have much choice  !

Thanks James,

Where do you normally get it serviced when home, and when was the oil and filter last changed?
That information should help decide whether it’s practical to wait until you get home.

Regards,

Gareth.

Hi its one of the many WORRY lights that the Audi brand has you probably could easily have driven a thousand miles past the light, its just aggravating, the charge you had was excessive, the filter trade is about  £10.00 and the oil £30 all the rest as they say is gravy.

Thank you to everyone who has replied so far. Last year the oil change was about £120 at my local garage in South Yorkshire. The Q3 is my wife’s car, My A4 petrol was actually dearer only because it didn’t have a dipstick and the mechanic said it was a pain to do! Also I am island hopping in the Hebrides next week so it definitely needed doing, as the miles will ramp up plus the journey back home.
thanks again all

Under the circumstances, £180 is okay. To be honest, the oil service should have been done prior to road trip racking up miles.

Sure checked everything before setting off for the long journey, apart from the service screen, it usually gets done later in the year around the same time as the MOT. Must have done more miles this year somehow.

thanks all
