Front and rear washers not working

Featured Replies

Neither front or rear washers are working. cant hear motors operating.

Both front and rear wipers are working.

Any ideas chaps?

picture one shows "fuse" location

picture 2 confirms this is windscreen washer system

picture 3 is my actual fuse box with "fuse" identified according to my handbook

picture 4 is the actual "fuse" which is a strange looking thing and as far as i can tell, appears to be intact

Hi its the motor in the washer bottle fairly easy to change and the part wont break the bank unless you buy a genuine part.

Hi not really odd as both will fail when the motors knackered if its one not working its a blockage except if its the rear washer thats normally the nozzle or the water feed to the wiper has corroded itself to death which will sooner rather than later kill the motor.

Ahh ok, so one motor operates both front and rear?

I think picture 4 is the relay rather than the fuse.

You might be right cliff. It is an odd looking thing .. never come across one of these before. Is there a way of testing it?

Try fuse 19 , under bonnet 30 amp .  But if the wipers are working???

Also look at fuse 4 inside the car . Screenshot_20251016-101950.Chrome.thumb.png.7d39f420c5b9dc2b3e2bb9ab27e710f7.png

Bear in mind that fuses blow for a reason -to protect the circuit, so if anything has blown, you will need to investigate why, rather than just putting another one in.

If you can hear or feel it click when energised it is definitely a working relay. If you can not hear or feel anything the question is still open what it is.

Hi yes dual port motor that plugs in to the washer bottle via a rubber seal, sometimes the connector gets cruddy but not found one like that on an Audi yet, just failed motors as like with everything they have gone for the cheapest item they can find, as far as the relay clicking it wont do that if the motors dead.
