Dash clocks

Featured Replies

Looking for advice. The square display between the dash clocks on my Q5 has gone blank...worked fine then didn't. I have also noticed the seat belt warning no longer sounds and the cruise control doesn't work. Anyone point me in right direction. Thanks.

Have you checked the fuse boards at either end of the dashboard?

If the battery is more than five years old it would be worth getting it professionally tested. A dying battery can cause these sort of faults even though it can crank the engine at normal speed.

Checked all 3 fuse boxes, either side of dash and the one in boot. Nothing points directly to cruise control and no blown fuses.

I've had the car nearly 3 years and never had a battery and has never failed to start even after being left a while tho I recall when plugging in my carista it showed voltage as 11.9v but went to 13+v when started.

11.9v is at 40% charge ,  low .  But your clocks/LCD  does seem to have lost all power .

Will take and have it checked I think and report findings. Thanks

Please keep us posted on how you get on. If it isn't linked to the battery or alternator then you might need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up relating to the screen. The cluster can be repaired and there's various companies that do this.

Will do. I've done a basic scan with my carista and got a few codes but none that really point to anything specifically related although the 00457 code may??? Never had the glow plug code either but will look into that.
