Audi a4 pre sense fault

Featured Replies

Everytime I start up my car I get this pre sense fault on the car it will go away after about 5 seconds like normal then after about a minute or 2 of driving the fault will come up again and will constantly come up in 5 minute intervals with a binging noise . It seems to only happen in winter in the cold evening or mornings but once I blast the heat and car heats up after about 20 mins the fault will go away it self . Anyone have any idea of what it could be ?

You need the fault codes from an OBD2 scanner.   Possibly a sensor or the camera is at fault . ??

Got these already nothing showing up really

Windscreens usually always have a small heating element built into the area around the screen camera to help with condensation. If you remove the trim around the rear view mirror you will Electrical plugs for the camera, rain/light sensor, rear view mirror dipping. You’re looking for a small plug that plugs into a fixing on the screen that appears to be a blank, this will be the heating element. Some manufacturers sell replacements but usually part of the screen

You may be in luck that it appears to be a part VAG sell separately, the photos below is of a A3 but would expect it to be available for a A4 also.

Removing and refitting the camera on the screen usually stipulates a recalibration if following the text book but that’s upto yourself

My 2019 Q7 is doing the exact same thing I changed the battery in case it was a low power thing but the problem still came back I will look at this part next

Yes got quoted 2000 from main dealer has to be calibrated ect after been fitted

What Audi said about calibration is correct but there are many other companies that will calibrate it for you for a fraction of the money, it’s a static calibration using a board that is widely used on Most VAG cars, try a mobile windscreen company as they often carry the equipment
