Whistling noise arround fuel tank / Diesel Pump??

Featured Replies

Dear Audi members,

This is my first topic and wanted to ask you guys for help or some lead information on some weird things i notice on my car.

I am having 2023 Audi A6 2.0 TDI Quattro - Sline  (30, 000 KM and still under warranty) and having some weird whistling noise arround fuel tank area.

For few months I notice that when I start car and let running for few minutes on parking spot the noise starts (whistling) under the car in rear area. Somewhere where is fuel tank located.

When you step on gas paddle noise stops. As soon you move your foot noise starts again.

After car has been driven for some time - short or long distance and you come out that whistling noise is gone.

I did ask AUDI mechanics as I couldn't show them the whistling noise on spot as car was warm. They said it could be vabesto (standheizung) making that noise BUT my car dont have that and if it did have it would in engine area and not next to fuel tank.

Did anyone had same problem maybe ??

I would really appreciate your comments.

Greetings from Austria.

Lg, D

I think done audis had issues with the high pressure fuel pump. Is it worth getting a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?

Audi Diagnostics already done. Nothing at all.

No fault codes
