Rs3 Brakes sticking

Featured Replies

Hello

Anybody else suffering from brakes sticking on even when it rains and left the next day and they have stuck on.

Odd this is happening on a 2025 model car. I'd recommend getting it into Audi asap.

Could be a sticking caliper piston. Is it happening on one wheel or multiple?

If it's happening when driving you'll know which wheel because when you stop the affected brake will be hotter than the rest.

Hello Steven,

I really doesn’t matter, or make any difference whether anyone has had this issue - you have it, and you shouldn’t have any concerns regarding the why s and wherefore s. Your responsibility is to simply ensure it gets booked into an Audi dealer, and politely instruct them to  ‘fix it please’.
Perhaps you would be kind enough to let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Gareth.

Hello

Not really I do not apply the handbrake when it is parked in the Garage just leaving it in park.Brakes have not stuck since doing this.Thanks.

So logic follows that when you do have to park it somewhere where the handbrake is an insurance, the same issue will arise.
Obviously your car, your call, but it seems a nonsense to me to pay many, many tens of thousands of pounds, and put up with something which isn’t correct and can be sorted FOC.
It might just be me!

There’s probably something in the pads and contact with the discs that’s causes the sticking in damp weather. You’ll be fine applying handbrake for short periods in poor weather or ensure brakes are up to temperature before applying. Leaving in park in the garage is a good solution.

Only other option would be different pads. Would need brake strip down, clean and use ceramic grease on pad shoulders in the carrier. What are other RS owners using from their experience?

You’ll need VCDS for rear brakes to retract EPB if Audi haven’t already progressed to dealer only software. I know VW Golf latest model is ODIS, which is ridiculous.

Thanks Richard, but this vehicle isn’t a year old yet, so any degree of DIYing would not be in the best interests of the manufacturer’s warranty.
