Coding new battery to 2014 RS5 (VCDS)

Featured Replies

I have followed the instructions correctly, the old battery was a Moll (MLA) unit, the unit supplied is still a Moll unit but the vendor code is EAB

Within VCDS, EAB doesn't show on the list, does the battery vendor need to be recognised by VCDS for it to be coded successfully?

I even tried to use the code MLA and the test procedure still didn't work and not let me save the new details

The old battery information within 19-CAN Gateway is 8K0915105F  MLA 140626Q2R6

The new one is 000915089K EAB  1411088RZ0

Done all the correct spacing/characters, it just won't let me run the test successfully and save new parameter

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Hello Chris,

Not absolutely certain for your model, but it would be highly unusual for a 2004 Audi to need to have its battery coded?

What prompted you to buy a Moll battery for this 22 year old car?

I recall reading up on these batteries some time ago, and if memory serves me well (which it doesn’t always) then these batteries were troublesome and VAG discontinued using them - ?
Regards,

Gareth.

ah right we can see it says audi 2004 in your signature

Very confusing Chris - we aren’t meant to be mind readers.

Please explain the situation clearly at the point of posting, otherwise we waste our time, and you get incorrect information. All of which isn’t what anyone wants.

The title of post literally states RS5 2014, does it not? I own 4 cars - do I have to state at every post what cars i own then ask the question I need help with?

I'm asking a question clearly on the posts title about a 2014 RS5, not a 2004 A3, not a Ford Granada ....

The fact you're acting this, clearly shows you're not even planning to help (a showcase of great community spirit), just a poor attempt of trying prove something that doesn't need proving

No problem, timewaster 👍🏼

Hi I know an easy way of getting around your problem as I own VCDS and have come across this problem before but subject to your attitude I think I would rather put my wedding tackle in a bacon slicer than tell you plus I am not to far from you, engage brain before mouth ring any bells.
