A5 B10 Secure non-drill fixing

Featured Replies

I’ve got an Audi A5 B10 and the front number plate has fallen off. It was attached with tape by the dealer. Any suggestions on how to fiic it more securely without drilling or !Removed! into the grill? There are no obvious holes for screws or in the grill to clip anything on anyway.

I no longer live anywhere near the original dealer. Not sure my local Audi centre will do anything but will enquire. Thx

Better double sided tape and better surface preparation than was carried out originally David.

I would be very surprised if your now local dealer wouldn’t do this for you  David.

Regards,

Gareth.

I always use Sanoj tape on number plates - the clear stuff linked below rather than the black foam. When you need to remove it, it comes off in one piece rather than having to scrape the sticky foam residue off like you do with regular number plate pads.

The dealer is going to put on a number plate holder next week. Issue is that the front grill is not a smooth surface and there are no dimples to easily screw in a plate. I’ve done a temporary fix for now with Tiger Taoe. Apparently a common problem where the front plate is initially taped on.
