Hi thanks for the response bought from a Audi garage in august 25 full service and mot not been in a crash, not had any work done at all and still on the tyres it came with which are 6000 miles ago the master tech people have driven it and say its not right been through the garage at Audi and no faults found, they are all at a mystery that it drives so bad

it does have lane assist and doesnt make sure any difference if i turn it off

In that case I return to wheel alignment as a first step. I suggest you get it checked/adjusted. Most tyre places can do this at much lower cost than Audi.

If the alignment is fine then it time to consider wheel bearings and suspension bushes.

Please let us know the outcome.

Hello David,

Dare I ask if you or anyone else has checked and adjusted the tyre pressures when cold?
Yes, I know it’s straight from the book of the Bleeding Obvious, but…..

Regards,

Gareth.

Hi lane assist is the Bain of all VAG owners my Passat pulls all over the place on country roads if it even thinks it can see the faintest trace of a white line, I suggest turn it off and then go and get it four wheel tracked with a Hunter equipped garage the guy I use reckons a lot of them are out of line from the factory, once its been tracked you will have a noticeable difference in feel and handling, but the biggest factor with vague handling on your car is the big fat tyres.

Hi yes many thanks. after discussions with the technical guys at Audi they have no fix! so we came to a resolution and they have bought the car back. cant fault the sales chaps for this and they were very fair as done 6000 miles in  6 months. fair play to the dealer

it was my thought that they will just put the car into auction and wash their hands of the problem. such a shame as generally a comfy powerful car.
