Brakes

Featured Replies

So I purchased a 2021 A3 saloon 1.5 TFSI auto in November last year.

when braking it feels like car lurches forward while braking, don’t seem as responsive as they should.there is a guy on YouTube who posted videos 5 years ago 20/21 A3,

he had owned it 6 months and rated

comfort,

styling

standard equipment

packages available etc

1 thing he did mention was the brakes.said that it felt like they didn’t work,

Has any body else who owns an a3 same year experienced this,I don’t know if it’s some kind of adaptive braking

What are we to make of the opinion of an anonymous unquoted "guy on Youtube"?

If you feel the car is not right, and I'd agree it does not, you should get it inspected. The problem could be suspension, brakes, or something else entirely. Does it have a current MOT?

Hello Sean,

Not wanting to appear unhelpful, and I’ve said this before - it doesn’t really matter who else has dodgy brakes or other issues, you have, and you need to start a process of investigating why. If you ask yourself the question:- Would Audi have marked this car with brakes which cause you concern? No, they wouldn’t.
Way forward:- if it were mine, I would be getting the braking efficiency on all wheels checked at an MOT station.
This might help to identify the major offenders.

Mileage? Service history and record of any brake work carried out?

Has it been like this since you took ownership in Nov.25? If so, have you previously reported it to the seller?
Do you have the knowledge and tools to carryout whatever is found to be wrong?

Regards,

Gareth.
