Newbie with tuning question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Newbie with a question regarding tuning.

I recently purchased an S3 2017 and thoroughly enjoy driving the car but fancy a stage 1 tune and gearbox upgrade and was hoping someone could recommend a tuner around Surrey.

Also have people had good/bad experiences with tuning.

Cheers Graeme

Hello Graeme,

If it were mine, I would be first looking at the service history of the car ( ignore the recent selling dealer service which is likely to be an oil and filter change using the cheapest materials available).

When was the air filter last renewed, what are the tyres like - quality brands matched across the same axle? When did you check the tyre pressures? Brakes?  What will be the increase in your insurance premium, etc?

In effect, I would only consider remapping this car if it has been well maintained prior to purchase (and I don’t  mean oil and filter changed every c18k miles) and you are satisfied that the car in in tip top order.
Regards,

Gareth.

Hi.

If you have any issues with insurance at all for these types of modifications then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.
