1998 2.8 litre A4 quattro avant SOLD

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Apologies, I'm a new user and this post will probably go exactly the same way as the one below it, but I'd be remiss not to try;

Below is a 1998 2.8 litre A4 quattro avant that needs some love, otherwise (just like the post below) it'll unfortunately get sent to the breakers.

I personally don't know much about the car, I'm posting this on behalf of my father who is the one selling it. I've seen it turn over - as I understand, it needs a new battery though.

It would obviously be a light restoration project, the passenger side door has been bumped into, as can be seen in the second image.

I couldn't give you an asking price but bear in mind it'll get scrapped as a last resort. If you're interested at all, I can pass along my fathers phone number in a DM for you to discuss further.

Many thanks!

Hey Cliff,

Yeah, I don't know much about it - basically that he stopped using it as a daily because it cost too much fill it. It had been idle for a couple of years and had to be moved out the way with charge n start battery because it's own one was flat. I'm posting it here since it seems a shame to scrap it when someone might be able to get it on the road again and hoon around in it.

I see you're in Kent ... fancy a project 😉 ?

Not blooming likely. My days of crawling under cars and getting my hands filthy ended years ago. I prefer the refinement and lack of maintenance of electric nowadays. Thanks all the same.

Haha, no problem, I wasn't really serious. As a mod I assume you see every old car that passes through here and think 'good luck to them'

Perhaps some enthusiastic fellow on the forum might want to do a bit of tinkering over the summer though, I'll have to wait and see!

Hi all, I'm delighted to say one of your illustrious forum members has given this old girl a new home, hopefully to restore it and give it many more years on the road. The forum tools don't let me edit thread titles, but if any moderator wanted to flag it as sold, that would be great.

Cheers!

hi lads, yes it was me who bought the car and its now here in ireland, its an interesting car and i hope to have her up and running soon, ill keep the forum posted on the progress,Greg

p.s a big thanks to Bob and his dad Mike for all the help with getting the car loaded and on its way

thanks Cliff,i think its more madness than dedication!
