I have just been looking for the manual release cable for the fuel flap but there doesn’t seem to have one!! The manual says “If you cannot open the tank flap, obtain professional assistance.  Then drive carefully to a qualified workshop and have the fault rectified” !!!! which seems ridiculous to have no way to manually open the flap.

Has anyone come across this and have a workaround?

At present I don’t have an issue with the flap but as a failing actuator is a common fault on VAG vehicles I want to be prepared for a failure.  

Seems very odd Steve, but stranger things have disappeared over the years to save a couple of shillings!

Let’s hope some members with the same model year can confirm/refute.

On the older ones there was a cable on the inside of the car behind the trim where the cap sits.
