1987 Audi 80 gt coupe

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I haven't been on for ages but would like to hear some sensible options. Lol.

I have a 1987 audi 80 gt coupe that I started to work on it's only done around 38,000 miles but has sat for years, I have the engine out and stripped cleaned painted new timing belt and everything that goes with it.

Which for me was the easy part body needs the back panel repaired and corners of front pillars

Underneath is still really good but my question is would it be worth doing especially if I put it in somewhere to get body done and resprayed it also needs

a sunroof and I am struggling to find a good one at a reasonable price.

Would really appreciate your thoughts

Spelling mistake

Andy.

In what sense do you mean "worth doing"?

If you are looking to recover your financial investment by selling the car at a profit after restoration, that is unlikely so it is not worth doing.

On the other hand if you love the car, have endless funds in the bank, and will enjoy the resulting transformation, then it is very worth doing.

Thanks yeah this the problem I am having I have had a look and I have to say unless it's a quattro they don't seem to be worth a lot not that I am sure I would be selling it but also getting body parts is proving really difficult but it seems a shame to break it for parts.thanks for your feedback.
