jammycodger Posted June 15, 2017 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Hi all - my engine warning light came on a while ago and it's been diagnosed as an "intake manifold runner fault (swirl flaps motor) possibly manifold" I'm going on holiday on Monday, driving hundreds of miles around the country. I'm assuming it's the 3.0tdi? I believe the intake manifold swirl flap issue is a common one. And I believe you can get a repair kit which costs approx £80. This issue is mentioned in the current issue of Audi Tuner magazine. As they are have a whole buyers guide on the a6 c6 3.0tdi. Might be worth you buying it :) in terms of worst case scenario I'm unsure to be honest. But if it were me I'd get it fixed and not run the risk. Having the car go into limp mode whilst on holiday would be a nightmare! Just make sure you have break down cover. Sorry if I'm telling you how to suck eggs! Envy Posted July 6, 2017 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Mate had this on his 3.0 A6 Avant and this was the actuator ends that get slack throwing proximity warnings. It could be something more sinister but historically its the rod that causes this.... Take the car to any good Audi specialist and it's a quick if not a little awkward fix.
