Tailgate noise

Featured Replies

Hello

New member here

On opening my tailgate , either manually or with the key fob , it sometimes seems to make a noise resembling a gatling gun and then opens.

Any ideas anyone

Thanks

Tim

Welcome to the forum Tim :)

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your tailgate, however you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

Sorry I can't help though. I'm assuming the tailgate locks properly and there's no issues with the locking system.

Cheers

Hi Steve

yes it all works ok , just makes this annoying noise most of the time , like its repeatedly trying to unlock , but always works ok

I'm wondering if the tailgate is experiencing resistance from something? Have you put any lubricant on the locking mechanism to see if that will help? I'm wondering if a component is sticking on the locking mechanism.

Cheers
