Will petrol mufflers change the sound of a diesel?

Featured Replies

Hi, I was thinking about installig some TFSI mufflers on my 2.0 TDI as I would like it to sound just a little louder, but not too much (which I'm afraid deleting them completely will do). Any ideas? Has somebody done this?

Unlikley. Just do a back box delete

  • 2 weeks later...

I've done the delete on my OCTAVIA diesel. It has helped reduce back pressure and the turbo spools up quicker. Looking to do the same on my A4 convertible but it has 2 rear boxes so will be about £200. Will have to wait till after the new year.

I don't think the petrol ones will change it much. I'm with the others on this and a backbox delete, it won't make it too loud either.

IV found this video on YouTube which has a a4 diesel with the backbox delete:

Hope it's useful :)

Cheers, and merry Christmas :)

Merry Christmas guys! Thank you for your responses...I may be considering doing the back box delete then...will think more about it.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!
