  1. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.

  2. Does anybody know the paint code for the Matt Metallic Grey Lower Skirt on the 2016 8V. I can't find a reference to this on any of the documentation. I assume this is a standard colour across all body colours? My body colour is Monsoon Grey.

  3. Just an update, I've got hold of a audi tech as a foreigner and he has told me the one I ordered is general part and not the exact audi part no. This has now been ordered and should arrive on Monday. But I now have a power steering warning light as well, I'll keep the thread updated and if the new ring fixes my problems I'll place the part no in the feed

  7. I agree with you Brian, but it is proving difficult to persuade people away from the old argument that if the battery has 12 volts and cranks the engine then it must be OK. That was indeed true before the advent of electronic controls a few decades ago, but it is no longer a good enough criteria to judge the condition of a battery, as you and I and many others have discovered the hard way.

  8. Thanks for your reply 👍yes I have checked that and they are clear of any debris. I think I have got to get underneath the car to locate the pipe to clear it . I have got a trolley jack so have got a friend who has got some axle stands so hopefully I can do it myself if not I will have to take it to a garage. If I sort it out I will update my post so hopefully other people with the same problem can fix it. Thanks again for your advice

  9. Yes. I did this too. I only got my first Audi 22 plate in January. Having had a Jaguar XF where the app was very good, as is Ford's, the Audi app is awful. It won't actively send you any notifications if you leave it unlocked. I'm glad that I only took the month option. It tells me where the car is for free. As for the other £16 monthly subscription. Same. Don't. Fire up WAZE for satnav. It's brilliant and FREE traffic alerts.

  11. That sounds awful Tom, after the first listen I thought it was just a loose exhaust banging against the chassis but after playing it back a few times I'm no longer sure. If it was mine I'd get it looked at sharpish mate just to be on the safe side.

  12. Did a bit of further investigation and something the scares the s**t outta me , what looks like a small hairline crack along the metal over the plastic sump , it doesn't look like oil is leaking out of it looks dry around it , can these cases get small hairline cracks that don't go the whole way through , so they actually don't leak ? Surely the would be fluid marks running down from the crack , and there is also never oil on ground underneath the sump
