I don’t like jumping in on threads, but perhaps we can revert back to the beginning Richard:-
If it had been made clear that the ‘damage’ to the lens was on the inside, then anyone giving or accepting an explanation that that damage was due to external sources, was thick in either giving or accepting that as an explanation. Sorry, but I can’t put that any more politely! ( Apologies if the link clearly explains this, but I too, don’t open links from unknown sources).
Sorry if this comes over as being a little harsh, but members seeking free advice and help are not expected to question the helper’s bone fides.
Punctuation? My brother tells me of an Oxford graduate, who went on to do a PhD, and he does not use punctuation- I believe to come over as simply being ‘different’. Consequence is that readers sometimes have difficulty in trying to interpret what is being said.
We are all working blind on here, since we never see the issue, and depend solely on the member’s description in our attempt to help them.
Are you sure, this surface damage is to no degree on the outside of the lens?
Regards,
Gareth.
