  1. 2018 model here with less miles for £45k if that helps. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202512238771348 Not necessarily sure your RS5 will increase in value. It depends what you want from it and if you still enjoy owning it and driving it. RS2 Avants are still making money, but here’s the rub, you can’t get parts for them. Similarly an RS6 V10. Can be picked up for as little as £15k, but they are very specialised to work on, and in most cases it’s an engine out job even to get to the starter motor.
  2. Hi your bulbs are probably on their way out, age related wear inevitable, I always used the 6000k bulbs from a company called valley lighting on eBay they normally lasted about three years on my car and on a cab on nights thats pretty good going, LEDs are a waste of time and money as I have seen them used on the A4s some other cabbies have, fail quickly and keep throwing lighting faults, converting to LED headlamps your looking at £800 a side second hand or £2000 a side from Audi and then you have to get a different lighting control module and have the whole lot coded in, therefore at around £140 the pair the valley units are good value, try them you wont be disappointed. Steve.
  3. Well if manufacturers can not fit LED lamps that do not dazzle oncoming traffic, amateur conversions have no chance of getting it right. I posted the topic as a future reference for the regular questions we get about uprating headlamps because I have little knowledge of the matter.
  4. Thanks everyone for your help and advice 🙂
  5. Hello Andy, Many thanks for joining. Of course, it’s the low mileage which puts this into a different class. In case it helps, it might be worth contacting Car & Classic’s website. They can handle a brokerage type auction for you with varying promotional packages. I know someone who used them last year, and has praised them for their efficiency and ‘safe’ transaction. They should also be able to suggest a realistic value, and also do straight forward simple advertising for you at the valued price. Perhaps you would let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  6. Winter weather always reveals the weakness of a dying battery. At eight years old it undoubtedly needs to be renewed. Don't forget to get it coded to the car.
  7. Andy. It's unrealistic to expect a valuation without an opportunity to inspect it, to listen to it, to test drive it, or to examine the service history. Look at Autotrader and the like, or go to a dealer.
  8. Thanks Debbie, An 8 year old battery needs replacing, even if it isn’t the sole culprit. Now knowing that, I wouldn’t bother getting it checked. If it were mine, I would simply invest in a good quality new replacement. In case it helps, it would be well worth putting your registration number into Tayna Batteries and Parts in Motion’s websites, and consider their Exide brand ( which I now prefer over Varta or Bosch). Both these suppliers also operate on EBay where you generally get free delivery. The new battery will need coding to the car, so you will need to set this up with a trusted local independent, before swopping them over. Please let us know how you get on Debbie. Happy New Year to you and yours. Regards, Gareth.
  9. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
