  1. I have just had a look at the Ultra Racing website and can see that they are showing it fitted where you have got it placed. As has already been said this is a waste of time and money and will do nothing to tighten up your car and will just add to the weight. Every other tower bar they have for Audi's apart from the A1 at least fits to the strut towers although I don't think I would be going out of my way to buy one. If it was me I would be sending it straight back and using the money towards one that is actually going to do a job or even upgrading your arbs
  2. Hi, I had exact same fault with mine. My temp sensor wasn't reaching op temp of 90c, even after new stat fitted. I had a slight coolant loss which I traced to rear coolant sensor on back of head. Took old sensor to motor factors (so as to buy correct sensor) and was informed that my sensor wasn't the correct one. Apparently they are colour coded, my one was grey when it should have been black. Fitted new black sensor (supplied with strong metal spring clip and not cheap black plastic one) bled coolant system and took for test drive.....The difference was night and day. Smooth rapid pick up, no lag/flat spot and most importantly temp gauge reached 90c with 10/15 mins of driving. I now don't suffer from what people think is regenning, revs increasing to 1000rpm and cooling fans coming on. That was engine ecu being told engine was cold by incorrect sensor and was over fuelling to increase temperature. Check the colour of your rear sensor, it could be just that simple a fix. My sensor cost me £14.50 from Europarts....nearly snapped my index finger fitting the metal clip though....it has never run so smoothly and used the least amount of fuel if now does or doesn't !!!!
  3. Well Guys ! I have good news i suppose, will take a new MAF Sensor to completely know for sure. But as described on linked forum https://forums.tdiclub.com/index.php?threads/diagnosing-and-fixing-limp-mode-for-a4-1-9tdi-low-power-troubleshooting.179589/ First port of call to diagnose a TDI in limp mode it to unplug the MAF and see if power is restored. Lord behold it worked. Car was out of Limp mode. I cleared the Engine code and of course i now had a MAF code but n75 no boost code was gone. So i have ordered a New MAF and hopefully that sorts out my issue ! Thanks for help anyway on all this. Will Keep you updated on whether new MAF sorts everything out. Hugh
  4. Hi it depends what type of filter housing you have if the new filter just plugs into the cap without a plastic tower running through the middle you wont need the smaller o ring. Steve.
  5. Thanks Gareth. Yes, it was difficult, just dealing with jobsworths I think. Happy to assist anyone if I can. Regards jim
  6. If the brace does not fit the struts, what is its function in the position shown? What do the suppliers claim for it? It does not look as if it would add to the structural integrity of the car.

    Should be there.

It certainly sounds like a timing chain. What engine is it, and how many miles has it done?
  9. C8 models 2019 onwards. 2.0TDI engine is robust and will be paired with 7-speed S Tronic gearbox. That needs serviced every 38k miles. V6 variant, then 8-speed TipTronic. Diesel 2.0 litre will be timing belt, so renew along with auxilliary belts every 60k miles plus water pump, etc. Personally I’d look for Quattro. That adds a few mpg but it’s surefooted and will help sell thereafter. Like anything, servicing is key. You want paperwork and lots of it. Avoid long service intervals. These are also sensor heavy, so consider purchasing VCDS as checking and clearing codes is £200 from Audi. All diesels, then you’re into AdBlue (Euro6), EGR, DPF, etc. Not sure when mild hybrid system started on petrol and diesel, but it’s complex. Search VAG Technic. It might have been an A8 but it caused them grief to fix. Faults, then rear coil spring seats are known weak point. The alloy corrodes from within the rubber. Rear subframes are just powder coated, so get there with Lanoguard. Front multi link suspension usually good for 100k miles, but will be hydrabushes, etc. On car around 50k miles, then potentially some arms if any knocks. Lemforder or Meyle HD. Another option is A6 Allroad, that’s air suspension. Extras worth getting, matrix headlights, auto towbar if you tow, full panoramic. It’s all money, but something to consider.
