  1. Hi guys, I don’t post often but thought I would share my experience with my Q7. It’s a 2019 50TDI Vorsprung in black. It’s got the factory 22 inch alloys, black badges, black exhaust tips and a dark grey interior. This is all factory afaik. I bought the car in 2020 with 9600 miles on the clock as an Audi used approved car after the original owner decided it was too big for them apparently. This was just after the end of the first Covid lockdown and they were desperate to sell it ha ha haaa. The car has full Audi service history and currently has 96,770 miles on the clock. I extended the warranty up until earlier this year for piece of mind but I decided not to continue it any more. Servicing costs me £21.74 a month with Audi main dealer and for this they take care of everything** Any and all filters needing changed are done. Fuel, cabin and air filters as well as routine oil and filter. I have the condition based servicing (up to 19,000 miles) but that only lasts me about 12-14 months byway so it gets an annual service in effect. **Apart from routine servicing, I had the gearbox serviced locally to me as the box was tending to hold gears too long. That was at about 85,000 miles and they company said it needed sound when it was in due to the condition of the oil. I tow trailers and load the car from time to time. I change the wiper blades every 2 years as they tend to streak after this point. I had the brakes done at 50,000 miles but they could have comfortably done 60,000 miles tbh. This is my change point. I do one set of discs to 2 sets of pads as I have with any other car I’ve owned. But the factory front discs corroded badly on the edges and wore the discs badly so I switched them out for factory replacements and they seem fine this time round. Tyres: I run the factory Hankook 22 inch tyres in the summer and I have a second set of winter wheels in 20 inch I use in the winter. I am still on my second second set of summer tyres and my first set of winter tyres (with the winter wheels about to go back on next week and they will see me through). I’m on 96,770 miles as of now so I’m looking at 33-35,000 miles per set of tyres. No horror stories on the tyre wear. Repairs: Ok so far repairs in over 5 years and 85,000+ miles comes to £85. That was for the dreaded brake servo pressure sensor. The part cost £85. It was 2 minutes to change it out and 30 minutes to boot up my old laptop with the VCDS software on it. Yes, I had the extended warranty but I could do it same day and not wait, plus it was cheaper than the excess. In summary, it’s been a brilliant car and I still really enjoy it so I’ll be keeping it for a while longer. It doesn’t cost any more than an unassuming Ford (not hating here lol) to maintain. Hopefully this will help a potential owner of a used Audi Q7. Don’t believe all the horror stories about big repair bills or chewing of tyres. If anyone has any questions, let me know and I’ll try and answer as best I can. Cheers, Andy

I'd recommend you try Audi heritage.

  4. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  5. Ross. If you have read the entire thread you will realise that Audi dealers generally reject any such warranty claims automatically, so you need to be persistant and present evidence to convince them otherwise.

Unlikely, but it would not hurt to ask Audi.

Kieran. Your chances of finding a matching seat fabric for repairs are close to zero because new cloth will not have faded like the original undoubtedly has. On the other hand if your intention is to recover all upholstery then your best bet is to take it to a car trimmer.
  8. Stephan. All the evidence you have provided, (the error code, the clutch slip, and the oil leak,) point to the need for a clutch and/or gearbox overhaul.
  9. Hi That is quite easy to do. The best way is to go to your local post office with your V5. Tell them that you are changing to historic and they will deal with it. They send your V5 away for you and within a couple of weeks you’ll get a new V5. Once it’s returned remember and go online and tax it. Although it is free, you still need to go through the process. Yes a calibration would be required if a sensor is changed, it ideally would be performed after changing suspension components as new bushes can change how the car sits slightly and a part of the calibration process is inputting ride heights for each corner
  11. The tower bar you have from Ultra Racing will not make a bit of difference to tightening up the chassis of your car Even the ones they do have have on there website that do fit Audis from strut tower to strut tower would not be my choice. On one of my other cars (not an Audi) I have a tower bar with a master cylinder stopper (which none of the Ultra Racing tower bars have) plus an additional 7 underbody braces, which whilst not so bling as a tower bar as unless you get under the car no one can see them do a far better job than just a tower bar which by its self will make a minimal difference All of these have been bought secondhand from various sources although all are made by either Cusco or Carbing and both of which in my opinion are far better than the ones on offer from Ultra Racing although I do not know whether they make for a A1 as they are Japanese makes Rather than the Tower bar you have got if you want to tighten up your chassis and want to stay with Ultra Racing you could look at there underbody braces as these would at least have some effect on tightening up your chassis.
  12. It's good to hear from a satisfied Audi owner. We don't get many on this forum.
