Got it, ta. Autobox oil and filter changed and it's taken care of the slight 'hunting' around 60mph on a light throttle. The oil was quoted as being 'disgusting and almost black'. This from a service schedule that says it's supposed to be filled for life.🤔 He also did a pretty fair job of gluing the rear window back in and it will get more attention as I put this thing back to pristine over the nest months. Will
  2. That's strange. Most of us have the opposite experience and prefer independent over Audi. Nevertheless your problem is solved and you are satisfied.
  3. Hi its the clutch master cylinder, when the clutch is changed they usually let the pedal go down to the floor which means an old cylinder seal and piston has travelled far further than it would ever have done before, this damages the seal and it won't ever recover, they are not to bad to fit but if you fit a new unit please use Comma ESP4 fluid as most other fluids eat the new seal on the piston in short order and ESP4 is bang on the same as the Audi fluid but a third of the price. Steve.
  4. Hi first question, how old is the battery and when you say checked by whom and how as the published scan is all classic low voltage, I can tell you from experience these vehicles expect a high degree of voltage stability which you won't get from a failing battery, if its left until it fails completely it causes catastrophic failure of some components, batteries for this model are very reasonable even for the OE batteries say VARTA ,BANNER,YUASA and if coded in correctly should last about four years. Steve.
  5. All good then. You may need to code it to the car. Not sure - mine was an all new oem installation that required camera parameters to be recognised by the car but since you already have the code it may not be necessary. All depends if the camera is part of the sdf security feature. Be interested in feedback on this. Good luck.
  6. Ok I might take mine to a garage then. Tricky decision regarding the sensors…I’ve seen the ones on EBay - tempting. But I guess I’ll have to make that decision after going to the garage. Will come back and let you know the results…no idea when though! Thanks Gareth
  7. This is how my mind works as I'm always buying cheap MX5s, tinkering and moving them on at no profit It's like all 'classic cars' If its in fantastic condition you can try to find a collector of older cars. Who may pay £3k to £4k. If it's averagely worn then get it 12 months MOT and sell it to someone willing to take a punt on a summer fun car, say up to £1500 or settle for half that. You might have got a less vague answer if you had posted a picture of it showing its worst/best features and Reg No so people could check MOT history. Good luck
  8. Well that eliminates coding, which is an unknown factor to many owners. The mention of the "faults" changing when a door is opened makes me wonder if the the wires between door and frame are damaged inside the rubber bellows. It was a common problem on earlier models, though I don't recall reports of it on cars as young as yours.

  10. Hi, to those who still has the same issue. This mistake says that electric turbine isn't working at all. The only way is to change it. But you need to change for following part number 057145601E. Because old models of this turbine will damage soon too. In this part number with E at the end they solved issue with high current which caused the damage. And after exchange you have better acceleration at the very beginning. And its really noticeable.
